Trump sends "rejected" advice to Americans on Thanksgiving

US reports said today, Thursday, that US President Donald Trump has advised the American people to violate precautionary and preventive measures against the emerging “Corona” virus.

Trump urged Americans, in a statement issued by the White House, on Wednesday, to “gather in homes and places of worship” before Thanksgiving Day, while urging his successor, President-elect, Joe Biden, and public health officials to practice social distancing and avoid clashes. The big day during the holidays to limit the spread of (Covid-19), according to the American newspaper “The Hill”.

“I encourage all Americans to gather in homes and places of worship to offer a prayer of thanksgiving to God for our many blessings,” Trump said in the statement.

The White House statement comes at a time when American public health experts are advising to stay home amid an increase in the number of new cases of “Corona” virus emerging nationwide, and warnings that the epidemic may worsen during the holiday season.

And earlier this November, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advised not to attend crowded rallies, large indoor gatherings, and crowded stores, in an attempt to slow the spread of the disease, and it also advised the agency not to travel last week with the rise in cases nationwide.

The White House has been largely silent about Thanksgiving health precautions and has done little to promote holiday guidelines from the CDC.

On Wednesday, the US President-elect, Joe Biden, appealed to Americans to take steps to preserve their safety in light of the increasing number of Covid-19 cases on the eve of the Thanksgiving holiday, and also pledged again to make fighting the pandemic a top priority when he officially takes office next January.
