US President Donald Trump announced today, Friday, that the result of the Covid-19 test he took was positive, through his official account on Twitter.

“The results of the test that we did, First Lady (Melania Trump) and me, came back positive. We will start with quarantine immediately.

In the first official comment after the announcement, medical sources at the White House said that Trump is “fine” and that he “will continue to work” and will remain during the “recovery period” in the White House.

The president canceled his trip to Florida, which was scheduled for Friday.

Trump had said on Thursday evening that he would subject himself to a quarantine pending the release of the results of his Covid-19 test, after the result of the Corona examination test for one of his close advisers was positive.

“The first lady and I are waiting for our test results,” the president wrote on Twitter. “In the meantime, we will start with quarantine!” He did not specify how long he would remain in stone, at a time when public health experts recommend a period of up to 14 days.
