French media reported late on Wednesday that former French President Valery Giscard d’Estaing had passed away at the age of 94.
And the former French president was transferred in mid-November to a hospital in Tours, in western France.
French media said that Giscard, who held the presidency from 1974 to 1981, was transferred from his residence to the hospital without revealing the reason.
Giscard was in the hospital for a short period last September after he complained of respiratory problems.
The French newspaper “Le Parisien” reported at the time that he had entered an intensive care unit.
