Most of the Joint Chiefs of Staff have been quarantined by the US Department of Defense (Pentagon) after two senior military officials tested positive for coronavirus last week.
Six out of the seven members of the Joint Chiefs of Staff have been placed in quarantine.
General Mary Milley, one of those subject to quarantine, confirmed after attending a meeting last week with Deputy Commander of the Coast Guard Admiral Charles Ray, who was tested positive for the Coronavirus, that he and the Joint Chiefs of Staff “are in constant contact while we are in quarantine and the chain of command remains the same.”.
The US military faced a scandal earlier this year when more than a thousand sailors from the aircraft carrier “USS Theodore Roosevelt” were infected with the virus and the ship was forced to dock in Guam.
