American Meteor Society experts are verifying 280 reports from residents of several US states that they saw a “fireball” flying into the sky.
And NBC had announced that residents of Lakewood, New Jersey, in the northeastern state of the United States, we’re able to capture a video of a meteor that was likely flying in the sky.
According to the American Meteor Society, which was founded in 1911, such reports began to arrive on Sunday evening from residents of Connecticut and New York, as well as from Massachusetts, Delaware, Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Vermont, and West Virginia. In addition, residents of the Canadian province of Quebec reported seeing a phenomenon in the sky.
The association’s statement indicates that “the investigation is still ongoing, and based on all reports received, it can be assumed that the” fireball “was heading from east to west and disappeared over Poughkeepsie, New York.
