Injuries during violent political protests in Washington

The Washington Post reported that four people were injured following violent political protests between supporters and opponents of Trump in Washington, DC, before the Electoral College meeting on December 14th.

The newspaper said, that four people are being treated in hospital for stab wounds after a confrontation between the pro-Trump racist group, the “Proud Boys“, and anti-Trump demonstrators in Freedom Square in the city center.

Metropolitan Police officers arrested 23 people during the clashes, according to the US “WRC-TV” television network.

The American capital witnessed the demonstrations two days before the electoral college meeting, to officially elect Joe Biden as president of country No. 46.

Trump, whose term will expire on January 20, is refusing to cede power, holding on to allegations of fraud rejected by state and federal courts, and even the Supreme Court, last Friday, due to lack of evidence.
