The former head of the US Cybersecurity Agency, Christopher Krebs, has filed a lawsuit against President Donald Trump’s campaign, and one of his lawyers, after death threats he received.

The lawsuit accuses Trump’s attorney, Joe Degenova, of a “malicious plot” against Republican party members who “speak the truth and perform their public duties in good conscience” in the face of allegations of election fraud by the White House, according to a report published by the New York Times.

The cybersecurity agency official was the target of death threats, according to the New York Times, which said it had reviewed a legal dossier in this regard.

She added that the threats came after Degenova announced in an interview broadcast on the conservative news network “NewsMax” that he should “shoot the Crips” for saying that the recent elections were “the safest in American history.”
