3 planets border the moon in January

The Qatar Calendar House said that it will be possible to see three planets border in our solar system, namely Venus, Mercury, and Mars, next to the moon at different times during January.

Qatari citizens will observe the planets of Mars and Mercury at the closest point with the moon in the evening, while citizens will be able to see Venus and the moon in the dawn sky with the naked eye or with astronomical devices.

   The astronomer at the Qatar Calendar House, Bashir Marzouq, confirmed that the brightest planet of the solar system Venus will reach the closest point to the crescent on the morning of Tuesday, January 12, 2021.

He continued, “The residents of the State of Qatar will be able to see and observe Venus and the moon together with the naked eye above the eastern horizon in the dawn sky from after the moon rises until the sunrise on Tuesday.”

The expert indicated that Mars will reach the closest point to the moon on Thursday evening, January 21, 2021, and residents of the State of Qatar and the countries of the Arab region will be able to see and monitor Mars and the moon together with the naked eye in the middle of the sky from the time of sunset on Thursday until the date of the sunset of Mars after Friday midnight at 18 minutes Doha local time.
